Is my data actually safe?

Yes. Your actual numbers — wallet age, transactions, repayment history — are encrypted on your device before anything is sent. The blockchain never sees the raw data. Even the smart contract only operates on scrambled values. The only thing that ever becomes public is your final score number.

What is FHE (Fully Homomorphic Encryption)?

FHE is a special type of encryption that lets a computer do math on scrambled data without ever unscrambling it. Think of it like being able to count the money in a locked safe without opening it. Opaque uses Zama's FHE technology to compute your credit score without seeing your inputs.

What is Sepolia? Do I need real ETH?

Sepolia is Ethereum's test network — it uses fake ETH that has no real-world value. It's used by developers to test apps before going live. You'll need a tiny amount of Sepolia ETH (free) to pay for transaction fees. Click the "Get Test ETH" button in the top bar to get some from a free faucet.

Why does this matter for real-world lending?

Today, DeFi (decentralized finance) lending either requires you to lock up more money than you borrow, or it exposes your entire wallet history to get a loan. Opaque offers a third way: prove you're creditworthy without showing anyone why. This is the first step toward private undercollateralized lending on-chain.
